Architecture based on Sitecore, FAST ESP and Oracle

Since 2004 Alpha Solutions and Schultz Information have worked together to renew the distribution platform which comprises the central mechanism behind Schultz Information’s information system.

300,000 Documents

The solution is based on an XML database, where Schultz Information automatically and manually maintains more than 300,000 documents concerning laws and rule conformance via CMS tools. These are established either from automatic feeds from, for example, Retsinformation (legal information), or from other information banks, or they are generated by Schultz Information’s customers using CMS functionality.

500 Websites

The distribution platform is the end user’s access to the information Schultz offers. The solution is offered as a subscription-based and specifically tailored solution, where Schultz Information offers more than 500 websites all with a specially focused subset of information.

Sitecore, FAST, and Oracle

The entire architecture is based on Sitecore and FAST ESP as well as Oracle 10g as the database layer, where Sitecore is responsible for the generation of all 500+ websites for Schultz Information’s customers. Schultz Information itself creates new websites without further need of technical resources. The solution is established on a standard Sitecore CMS platform, as Foundry was not in existence at the time – but it uses a large range of the same principles which Sitecore has incorporated in its Foundry solution.

Automatic classification

Each website can be tailored to the individual customer in design, functionality, and content, where the content is defined based on automatic classification according to metadata in the documents. FAST ESP uses the metadata to form relevant sub-segments of the document portfolio, whereby Schultz Information obtains an automatic distribution of documents to the correct websites without necessitating the use of editorial resources. Instead, the editorial resources focus on maintaining a higher level document classification, which FAST ESP utilises – and on improving the user-experience for the users, as well as tagging the documents with the correct metadata.
